POLYPROPYLENE LOCKING COMBO® VALVE WITH SEPTUM

  • On/Off valve function with septum in a single unit is economical.
  • Lightweight, making it easier to carry in the field and reduces shipping costs.
  • Made of inert polypropylene to ensure purity of sample and non-contamination.
  • Push/Pull (On/Off) valve stem for quick, easy opening and closing of valve (< 1 second).
  • Faster than "twist action" valves.
  • Quick locking function, in closed position. Locked position is easy to verify visually, and prevents accidental sample loss during shipment
  • Virtually impossible to open or close valve too far
  • Valve Stem is 3/16" diameter
  • Fluoropolymer faced septum, with Ultra-low bleed silicone, prevents contamination and is located in base flange of valve with bag film below, so septum does not come into contact with sample inside bag.
  • Septum allows repeated punctures with syringes without leakage
  • Designed, Patented and Manufactured by Jensen Inert Products specifically for gas sampling applications.
  • Prices include Locking Combo® Valve with septum.
  • 3/16 OD stem for use with most 1/4" OD plastic and fluoropolymer tubing.
  • Bags with grommets available.
  • Bags with multiple fittings available.
  • Custom sized bags available.

Valve/Fitting Features

N/A

  • On/Off valve function with septum in a single unit.
  • Lightweight.
  • Made of Inert polypropylene.
  • Push/Pull (On/Off) valve stem.
  • Quick Locking function, in closed position, with visual confirmation. No tools required.

Film Key Features

N/A

FEP is one of the most chemically inert materials for making gas sampling bags. It works well in extreme temperatures ranging from -400 to 400 ºF; allowing it to be used in most stack sampling conditions. 5 mil FEP film is completely resistant to the most severe corrosives. Much more permeable than Multi-Layer or Tedlar®. FEP bags can be specified for applications involving corrosive gases.

Suggestion

N/A

  • Before use, thoroughly flush bags with ultra-pure nitrogen or zero air
  • During sampling, Fluoropolymer tubing and Fluoropolymer faced septums must be used in order to prevent sample loss.
  • Bags should not be filled to more than 80% of their maximum volume.
  • Charcoal (Black) Tedlar® bags should be used when sampling light sensitive compounds
  • Do not store compounds in bags long term due to the possibility that chemicals may adsorb onto the bag surface.
  • Bags should not be used to collect reactive or unstable compounds.
  • When shipping bags, do not air-ship unless the bags are stored in a pressurized area.

Film Properties

N/A

  • One of the most chemically inert materials available for making gas sampling bags
  • Maximum operating temperature: 400 ºF
  • Virtually transparent

Film Advantages

N/A

  • Works well in extreme temperatures ranging from -400 to 400 ºF; allowing it to be used in all stack sampling conditions
  • Heavier gauge (0.005) film is resistant to most severe corrosives as well as tolerates applications involving rough handling or difficult service conditions
  • Less expensive than PFA

Film Limitations

N/A

  • Poor long term storage stability for most VOC's and sulfur compounds
  • Much more permeable than Tedlar®, ALTEF, and Multi-Layer Foil bags
  • More expensive than Tedlar®, ALTEF, Multi-Layer Foil, and TFM bags
  • Lower tensile strength than Tedlar®

Valve/Fitting Benefits

N/A

  • Economical: Cost savings in manufacturing is passed on to customers.
  • Reduces shipping costs. Easier to carry multiple bags into the field.
  • Ensures purity of sample and non-contamination.
  • Quick, easy opening and closing of valve (< 1 second).
  • Faster than "twist-action" valves.
  • Locked position is easy to verify visually, and prevents accidental sample loss during shipment. Virtually impossible to open or close valve to far.
  • Located in base flange of valve with bag film below, so septum does not come into contact with sample inside bag. Septum allows repeated punctures with syringes without leakage. Ultra-low bleed silicone prevents contamination.
  • Designed specifically for gas sampling applications.
